Laura East was born in Alabama, and has spent the past fifteen years residing in the Birmingham area. Having always been drawn to most anything she could use to create art, Laura found herself hopelessly hooked when she began to delve into jewelry design. Laura found her passion in jewelry twelve years ago, and has evolved greatly as an artist and an individual since then. Feeling that her individual growth is reflected in her art, she finds her designs clearly representative of respective periods in her life.
Laura finds that her style and personality show up in her pieces whether she is using fine gemstones and precious metals, or everyday objects and hardware store findings. Though Laura East’s designs include pieces that range from simplistic and subdued to bold and brave, she livers her life in a continuous search for objects just waiting to be made into a beautiful piece of art.”
