Gabriel Schlaffer

Gabriel Schlaffer graduated from the New England Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin and Viola Performance in 2002, and earned his Master's degree at DePaul University in 2006.  Currently performing with the South Bend (IN), Chattanooga, and Alabama Symphonies, he has also performed in Boston, Chicago, England, France, and Japan as a recitalist and with chamber and orchestral ensembles.  He has studied with James Buswell, Keith Conant, Rami Solomonow, and Marcus Thompson.  Gabriel grew up in Missoula, Montana and now lives in Birmingham with his wife Machiko, who performs as assistant principal oboist with the Alabama Symphony.
