"Homewood to Hollywood" Susan Dennis Gordon work on NBC Parenthood Television Series

Susan Dennis Gordon, Director of Art Education, for the Shelby County Arts Council is featured in this week's Shelby Section of the Birmingham News.   Through her online storefront Susan's work was discovered by a set decorator for the NBC comedy series "Parenthood”.  She could hardly believe her eyes when she read the "Etsy conversation" from NBC wanting to buy four of her pieces.  "I was very surprised," Gordon said, “I was so excited that I called my husband and then forwarded him the email."

Her paintings hang in the kitchen and living room of the character "Julia".   The show airs on Tuesday evenings at 9:00pm c.s.t.  Susan's work resembles cellular material viewed on a microscope slide.  She tries to "capture something that we can't see but is part of our everyday lives" in her artwork.    If you see her artwork on television, be sure to let her know she would love to hear from you:  susan@shelbycountyartscouncil.com
